Who Are You And What Do You Want In Life?
Imagine if someone asked you that question the very first time you met them.
What would you say?
How would you answer?
It’s tricky, and that’s the crazy thing – so many of us don’t know how to answer the question!
Most of the time, when we meet someone new, we’ll engage in polite dialogue that goes something like this:
“Hi, I’m <Name>”
“What do you do for a living <Name> ?
” I am a <occuptation>”?
“Oh cool, how long have you been doing that?”
“I don’t know, about <time period>”
“Yeah, right – do you enjoy it?”
“Oh, yeah, ya know…it’s OK..it’s a job..it pays the bills”
..etc etc..and this sort of conversation is absolutely fine, don’t get me wrong.
But here’s the thing - wouldn’t you prefer to understand WHO someone is and WHAT they want for their life? Wouldn’t that be far more interesting?
In fact, wouldn’t you want to know WHY they do what they do; WHY do they live their life the way they do; WHY do they get up in the morning and do what they do with their day?
Confronting huh? Especially if you actually ask the question of yourself. …
So, my challenge to you is this:
1. Contemplate the question - Who Are You And What Do You Want In Life?
2. Then, go a little deeper and also ask – Why Do I Live My Life The Way I Do?
3. Try and articulate an answer for yourself.
You may, or may not be able to answer the question immediately, and if that’s the case then don’t give up searching for your answer.
If you can answer the question straight away then congratulations – you’re miles ahead of most of us!
Remember – there is no right or wrong answer here. There is, however, an opportunity to do yourself a favour and be completely honest with yourself about your life.
If you would like to share your thoughts/answers here then please feel free to do so. If you don’t feel comfortable sharing, that’s absolutely fine too!
I am going to be working through my own answers over the next few weeks, and I look forward to sharing my thoughts with you.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
With Life, Love & Laughter,
Cass.
Seven weeks ago I was sitting down, on my bed, casually taking my socks off…when all of a sudden I felt a painless ‘pop’. I’d dislocated my finger!
Much laughter followed as I asked myself , with much amusement- ‘what on earth just happened…?’
The Alfred Hospital kindly moulded a splint to my finger this is how it’s looked for the last 7 weeks! Next Friday the splint is due to come off, so perhaps next week’s Photo Challenge could be ‘Fixed’, or ‘Straightened’? Ha!
… don’t stop, don’t give up, keep going; take action every day to steer your life in the direction you want it to go..
..life isn’t just about your experiences – it’s also about how you influence other people’s experiences..
